[B]efore anyone was able to finish their first cup of coffee, Trump started railing against reports about his mental instability. In a series of tweets, Trump boasted about how he’s “a very stable genius” and, “like, really smart.” Trump’s frostbitten butthurt is clearly aimed at Michael Wolff’s new book, “Fire and Fury,” which quotes a number of aides as calling him A Idiot, a moran, and, “dumb as shit.” At first, we thought maybe Trump read a story from earlier in the week about how Congress secretly met with a head shrink from Yale who warned that Trump is already unraveling, noting his conspiracy peddling and brain farts as evidence, but that’s not possible since Trump doesn’t read. If he did, he might know that Ronald Reagan actually did have Alzheimer’s.
It began as a pretty normal Saturday morning. I was getting ready to watch a soccer match since I was wide awake at 4 a.m. PST. I was just about to start work on my first cup of coffee when I came across something I’d never seen before- a President of the United States bragging on Twitter about how smart he is. My first thought was, “Man, this guy must be in the grip of some SERIOUS insecurity issues.”
My second was, “If you need to hold forth on Twitter as to how unbelievably intelligent you are, something is horribly amiss.” Either
A) you’re really not that smart,
B) you’re chronically insecure and unable to admit your shortcomings,
C) you’re a lunatic, or
D) some or all of the above.
So this is the $#!&show America has become- a place in which a 70-year-old toddler with his finger on the nuclear button (his really IS bigger) trots his insecurities out for the world to see…and ridicule. Wir sind SEHR gefickt….
We feel that the rush of tweeting is an indication of his falling apart under stress. Trump is going to get worse and will become uncontainable with the pressures of the presidency.
I have no idea how to even begin to consider the possibility that the man sitting behind the big desk in the Oval Office is mentally unstable and suffering from delusions of
grandeur adequacy. Mental health issues are no laughing matter; considering them within the context of the President’s behavior is unprecedented. The answers may well lead this country to places it’s never been before. Given the massive divisions in the body politic, that can only take us down paths we shouldn’t wish to travel.
What scares me even more than the more-likely-than-not possibility the President is mentally unstable is that those around him are protecting and covering for him. There are people around him undoubtedly very well aware of the President’s emotional state…and yet are remaining silent. Whether out of self-interest or self-preservation, it hardly seems a stretch to believe that needs to stop before some serious damage is done.
At what point does love of country take over? At what point does someone disclose the truth? Or does the President tweeting that he’s a genius make everything all better?
Nice work, America.
