Normally, I could hardly care less about how much golf a President plays. If they do their job, if they’re looking after the things in need of being looked after, let them play. A President, perhaps even more than other mere mortals, needs a pursuit which allows them to relax and recharge. If that involves hitting the links and throwing up a few divots, so be it.
What I take issue with is the way Donald Trump has approached his favorite leisure pursuit. Prior to the 2016 Presidential election, he stated he probably wouldn’t be playing much golf, seeing as how he’d be so busy Presidenting and such. After all, this was the same man who, along with too many Conservatives, castigated his predecessor for his golfing. Yes, The Black Guy [who used to be] in the White House © had spent far too much time dithering on the golf course while America was circling the drain. Turns out Donald Trump has played far more golf and taken far more vacation time than his immediate predecessors. Turns out all that Making America Great Again is exhausting.
Trump usually doesn't let the press photograph him at his golf courses, but when he does, you can be sure he's wearing clothes he company sells in the Trump Store. pic.twitter.com/9eRUFoVK42

Then there’s the whole ethical morass created by the President golfing at his own properties, which certainly hasn’t hurt his personal bottom line. Until now, it’s been considered important for a Chief Executive to avoid even the impression of a conflict of interest or “self-dealing.” Evidently, “draining the swamp” meant replacing that ethic with the belief that a President lining his own pockets is merely an example of a winner enjoying the spoils of victory.
That most everyone on the right has remained silent about this President’s golf addiction even is…distressing. These are the same folks who condemned The Black Guy [who used to be] in the White House © for his allegedly excessive golf outings. It’s the worst sort of sloth and irresponsibility when a Democrat does it. When a Republican does the same thing, it’s merely some well-deserved rest and relaxation?
Please ignore what you might see as hypocrisy…because it’s become our new normal.
