An extremely zealous supporter of President Donald Trump appeared on CNN’s “New Day” Monday morning and showed just how far some voters’ loyalty to the president goes. Florida business owner Mark Lee, who was on the show as part of a panel of Trump voters, told host Alisyn Camerota that if Jesus Christ himself said Trump had colluded with Russia to influence last year’s presidential election, he’d still be skeptical. “Let me tell you. If Jesus Christ gets down off the cross and told me Trump is with Russia, I would tell him, ‘Hold on a second, I need to check with the president if it’s true,’” Lee said. Camerota asked Lee why he’d believe Trump over everybody else. “I believe in him. He’s a good man,” Lee replied. “He has taken so much shots for us…. It’s based on everything he’s been doing. He’s been winning.”
I’ve tried to understand how some otherwise well-meaning folks might have seen in Donald Trump someone who’d shake things up in Washington. Well, he has…just not in the way those who voted for him might have expected when they cast their ballot last November. Though I’ve tried to understand Trump supporters, there’s one thing I can’t get past. They thought voting for a man who’s a confirmed pedophile, sexual predator, racist, homophobe, and Islamophobe (as well as being astonishingly ignorant, arrogant, immature, and narcissistic) was a GREAT idea.
Consider this argument if you would: Would 63 million Americans have cast their vote for such a miserable human being if that person was a Democrat? Of course not, but Trump’s a Republican…and so he gets a free pass. Because 63 million Americans were Just. That. Stupid. Mark Lee is merely one example of someone who shouldn’t be allowed within a mile of a ballot box. I say that not because he voted for Donald Trump, but rather for his blind, thoughtless support of a man who’s so clearly the worst excuse for a human being to ever have access to the nuclear codes.
Blind faith in your leaders, or in anything, will get you killed.

“He’s been winning?” Really? What exactly has Trump done that could possibly come close to “winning?” He’s signed no major legislation of any sort. Most everything he’s done has been via executive order- this from the same despot who criticized his predecessor for “ruling by fiat.”
It’s OK when a Republican does it, but it’s the worst sort of anti-democratic tyranny and oppression when The Black Guy in the White House © (and a Democrat) did it?
“He has taken so much shots for us….” I suppose we should be thanking Mark Lee for providing the answer to the question, “How stupid does a person have to be to STILL support Donald Trump?”
Greetings from our new idiocracy. Nice work, America.
